Chapter Philanthropy

Chapter Philanthropy

On April 2, 2009 Alpha Xi Delta announced its National Partnership with Autism Speaks! 1 in 68 children is diagnosed with Autism. The Sonoma State Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta holds multiple philanthropy events a year to raise money for Autism Speaks, and we also participate in the yearly "Walk Now For Autism." The sisters of Theta Beta are so honored to work hand in hand Autism Speaks all throughout the year.

  Philanthropy Chair, Jordan Key

Philanthropy Events

  • The AmaXing Challenge (Fall Semester) - An event this in which each fraternity and sorority competes in areas of homemaking, intellect, and strength to be named "Xi" Man & "Xi" Woman. Money is raised in benefit of Autism Speaks by tickets sales, raffles, penny wars between the sororities and fraternities!

  •  Blood Drive (Fall & Spring Semester) - Each semester, Theta Beta partners up with Blood Source and puts on a blood drive! These blood drives are not associated with Autism Speaks, but we are very honored to put on these events! We have a great turn out each semester, and are very greatful to help those in need. 1 pint of blood saves 3 lives!

  • Step It Up! (Spring Semester) - This color run brings our campus, as well as our local, community together to run through our corse while getting color splattered on them at each checkpoint. Throughout the day we sell raffle tickets, food, and beverages with all proceeds going to Autism Speaks. We award the fastest male and female runner as well as a few other fun awards!

  • Walk Now for Autism Speaks (Spring Semester) - This event is put on by Autism Speaks, and Alpha Xi Delta makes it one of our biggest philanthropies of the year. Prior to the walk, all of our sisters form a team and begin fundraising. Our team name is Alpha Xi Delta, but family and friends are more than welcome to join our team and walk with us! This event is so much fun and we work our hardest to directly support our national philanthropy.
